Interventional Procedures:
- Specialty: Diagnostic & Interventional Radiology
- Start Date: ASAP / Ongoing
- Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Coverage Type: 100% Onsite (80% IR / 20% General Diagnostic)
Position Highlights & Requirements
We are seeking a skilled Interventional Radiologist for onsite coverage in Southern Illinois. The role is split as 80% Interventional Radiology and 20% General Diagnostic Radiology.
- Licensure: Active Illinois (IL) State Medical License required.
- Certifications: Board Certified or Eligible in Interventional Radiology (ABR or AOBR).
- Multi-Site Flexibility: Coverage supports two regional hospital campuses located ~25 minutes apart (Good Samaritan Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital). Dual-site coverage within the same week is based on provider skillset and site scheduling needs.
- Tech Stack: RPCE Tech Stack and PowerScribe 4.0.
- Workload Benchmark: Expected productivity of ~45 RVUs per shift.
Clinical Scope & Procedures
The position includes routine general diagnostic reads alongside a standard mix of interventional procedures:
Interventional Procedures:
- Aspirations & Drainage Procedures (~48%)
- Image-Guided Biopsies (~3%)
- Catheterizations & Vascular Access (~8%)
- CT-Guided Interventions (~7%)
- Minor Surgical / Excision Procedures (~10%)
- Therapeutic Injections (~6%)
- Breast IR Procedures (~3%)
- Additional Line/Catheter Placements, Insertions, & Removals
- Diagnostic Reads: 20% General Diagnostic Radiology worklist interpretation.
