Locum Cardiothoracic Surgeon | Lebanon, PA | Weekend Call Blocks

Med Ninjas is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Cardiothoracic Surgeon for weekend locum coverage in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, beginning January 2027.

This assignment offers defined Friday-to-Monday coverage blocks, APP support, temporary privileges for eligible physicians, and an average of approximately 2–4 callback hours per day, including rounding.

Clinical Responsibilities

The physician will provide weekend Cardiac Surgery call coverage, including:

• Responding to urgent Cardiac Surgery consultations
• Evaluating patients referred from the catheterization laboratory
• Performing urgent surgical procedures when clinically indicated
• Rounding on assigned patients
• Coordinating care with ICU, nursing, APP, and hospital teams
• Managing patients through the postoperative care process
• Completing timely documentation in Epic

Stable cases may be held until Monday when clinically appropriate. A surgeon is available for backup consultation after the initial evaluation.

TAVR procedures are not required.

Candidate Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiac Surgery
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience
• Active Pennsylvania medical license or IMLC/LOQ in hand
• Active DEA
• Ability to cover complete Friday-to-Monday blocks
• Current clinical competency and recent case experience
• Ability to complete facility credentialing
• Full disclosure of malpractice history

Credentialing

• Standard credentialing timeframe is approximately 60 days
• Temporary privileges may be available for Pennsylvania-licensed physicians with clean, non-complex credentialing files
• Full compliance documentation must be completed before the confirmed start date
