Pulmonary/Critical Care Opening in VA Located in Norton, Virginia About the Position A growing pulmonary and critical care service in Southwest Virginia is seeking a BC/BE Pulmonologist/Critical Care Physician. This full-time employed opportunity combines outpatient pulmonary medicine, ICU critical care consultation, and the opportunity to participate in one of the nation's busiest Black Lung clinics. -No prior Black Lung experience required; on-the-job training provided -Outpatient pulmonary and critical care responsibilities -Access to new ION Bronchoscopy technology -J-1 and H-1B visa candidates accepted Practice Highlights -Join a growing pulmonary and critical care service -Average 20 outpatient clinic patients per day -Average 5-6 Black Lung patients per day -Participate in a high-volume Black Lung program with specialized training provided -Provide consultations for ICU critical care patients -New ION Bronchoscopy equipment -Strong clinical and support staff -Opportunity to work with and teach Internal Medicine residents -Potential research opportunities and future program growth -Service area of approximately 75,000-100,000 residents -129-bed community hospital setting Procedures & Skills -Arterial line placement -Bronchoscopy -Critical Care experience preferred -EBUS experience is a plus Compensation & Benefits -Guaranteed base salary -Signing bonus -Moving allowance -Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage -403(b) retirement plan or 401(k), as applicable -Annual CME allowance -Full employee benefits package Community Highlights Norton offers small-town living in the mountains of Southwest Virginia with convenient access to larger regional communities. -Safe, family-friendly communities -Excellent public and private schools -Light traffic and easy commutes -Regional airport within a short drive -Mild weather with four distinct seasons -Scenic mountain surroundings -Abundant hiking, kayaking, fishing, camping, biking, and golf Qualifications -MD or DO -Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonary Disease/Critical Care -Skills in arterial line placement and bronchoscopy -Critical Care and EBUS experience are a plus -No previous Black Lung experience required -J-1 and H-1B visa candidates welcome
