INTERNAL MEDICINE – PULMONARY DISEASE

POSITION SUMMARY
The Department seeks a pulmonary medicine specialist to join an outpatient-focused practice with opportunities for procedural and inpatient consultative work. The role supports a growing service line offering pulmonary diagnostics, rehabilitation, and bronchoscopy services. The position contributes to a coordinated care model within a community hospital environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Board-eligible or board-certified in Internal Medicine and/or Pulmonary Disease.
• Residency training in internal medicine.
• Training or experience in Pulmonary Disease.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in Illinois.
• Interest in outpatient pulmonary care with procedural responsibilities.
COMPETENCIES
• Ability to evaluate and manage a broad range of pulmonary conditions.
• Skill in performing bronchoscopies and interpreting pulmonary function studies.
• Effective collaboration with clinical staff and multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to patient-centered specialty care.
• Capacity to support a busy outpatient practice with consultative inpatient responsibilities.
WORK SETTING & ENVIRONMENT
Work Environment: Hospital; Inpatient; Outpatient; Clinic/Private Practice
• Outpatient pulmonary practice with access to pulmonary rehab and diagnostic testing.
• Inpatient consultations without call responsibilities.
• Use of industry-standard EMR and modern clinical facilities.
• Collaboration with hospital-based services and specialty support.
• Opportunities for academic and research involvement.
