Pulmonologist Locum Opportunity – Lee's Summit, MO

We are seeking a Pulmonologist for a 13-week locum opportunity in Lee's Summit, Missouri, beginning December 2026, with ongoing coverage anticipated. This position combines inpatient Pulmonology and Critical Care coverage with scheduled daytime hours and weeknight/weekend call.

Assignment Details

• Start Date: December 14, 2026
• Initial Assignment: 13 weeks / approximately 3 months
• Ongoing coverage anticipated
• 1 physician needed
• Approximately 4 weeks of coverage needed per month
• New graduates accepted

Schedule

• Day Shift: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
• Night Call: 4:30 PM–8:00 AM
• Provider takes call on scheduled workdays
• Weekend Call: 7:00 AM–7:00 AM
• Typical rotations include Monday–Sunday and Friday–Sunday
• Monthly need consists of approximately:
  • 2 weeks of Monday–Sunday coverage
  • 2 weeks of Friday–Sunday coverage
• Scheduled daytime coverage plus call required

Practice Setting

• Inpatient Pulmonology and Critical Care
• Acute Care Hospital
• 15 ICU beds
• 33 Pulmonary beds
• Coverage primarily consists of consultations and call
• Epic EMR

Patient Volume

• Approximately 10 patients per day

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient Pulmonology coverage
• Provide Critical Care coverage
• Pulmonary consultations
• ICU consultations and management
• Daytime patient care
• Weeknight call
• Weekend call
• Respond to callbacks as clinically necessary

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Physician-only position
• Board Certified or truly Board Eligible required
• Active Missouri medical license preferred
• IMLC candidates may be considered
• Facility is willing to license
• DEA required
• BLS required
• ACLS required
• New graduates accepted
