Job description
We are seeking a Pulmonary Critical Care physician for a locum tenens position in Gadsden, Alabama. This is a call-only assignment providing critical care coverage in an inpatient acute care setting. Please see below for more information.
- Level III trauma center
- Acute care hospital
- Inpatient practice setting
- Cerner EMR
Job Responsibilities
Manage medical critical care presentations including cardiac arrest and failure, respiratory arrest and failure, sepsis, metabolic disorders, renal failure, overdose/poisoning, and drowning
Manage surgical critical care patients pre- and post-operatively, including general, vascular, orthopedic, neurosurgical, and cardiothoracic cases
Perform invasive ventilation management, including ETT, NT, and tracheostomy
Perform non-invasive ventilation management, including BiPAP and CPAP
Perform chest tube insertion
Manage approximately 6-10 phone consults and 25-30 patients seen per call period
Document all patient care in the Cerner EMR
Qualifications
Licensed in AL or IMLC
Active DEA
Active Alabama CSR
BLS
Working Hours
Call-only assignment; beeper call
Night shift, 19:00 - 7:00
