Job description
We are seeking a Board-Certified Pulmonary/Critical Care Physician for a locum tenens position in Longview, TX. This opportunity provides inpatient call-only coverage at a Trauma Level III acute care hospital, with specific block coverage needs and possible future monthly coverage. Please see below for more information.

Job Responsibilities
Manage approximately 15 patients per shift
Support a 26-bed department
Respond to critical care needs including cardiac arrest/failure, respiratory arrest/failure, sepsis, metabolic disorders, renal failure, overdose/poisoning, drowning, and related ICU conditions
Provide pre- and post-operative critical care support for general, vascular, orthopedic, neuro, cardiothoracic, trauma, and burn patients
Perform required procedures as appropriate, including PA catheter insertion, IABP insertion, temporary pacemaker placement, ICP evaluation/management, dialysis catheter placement, diagnostic/therapeutic taps, and pulmonary function testing
Collaborate with available support staff
Qualifications
Pulmonary/Critical Care fellowship required
Active Texas license or IMLC required
ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS required
Experience with broad inpatient pulmonary/critical care management and procedures required
Working Hours
Coverage type: Call only
Shift structure: 24-hour call coverage, 7:00a–7:00a
Current blocks include coverage needs in September and October, with possible future coverage around one week per month
