Job description The EASTERN Oklahoma VA Health Care System (EOVAHCS) is seeking applications for the position of staff physician, Pulmonology/Critical Care and Internal Medicine. We're seeking a board-certified, full-time employed physician to join our Specialty Medicine department at the Eastern Oklahoma VA Medical Center Hospital. Our ideal candidate will enjoy a busy, clinical practice and be dual board certified in Pulmonology/Critical Care and Internal Medicine. We are specifically seeking someone with an interest in the combination of outpatient and inpatient consults and management. Supports 60 60-bed VA hospital in Tulsa. Reports to the Chief of Medicine Specialty. This is a Non-supervisory position. Join a department that is expanding to better serve Veteran patients!

Job Responsibilities

The Staff Physicians may have teaching opportunities due to our association with Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (OSUCOM) and the Oklahoma University of Oklahoma College of Medicine (OUCOM) program. Qualified applicants will have an MD/DO, current medical license and be board-certified or eligible in Pulmonology. The ideal candidate for the staff physician positions will be suitable for academic appointment at OSUCOM and OUCOM. At the level of opportunity for joint academic appointment, teaching, and research. Pulmonology at the hospital and the outpatient clinic, as supported by a strong track record of academic and/or clinical excellence. Applicants must also be eligible for appointment at the VA. The clinical activities of the Section of Pulmonology/Critical Care span the breath of the subspecialty and are strongly supported by surgery, pathology, radiology, and the other staff members of the Medicine Service.

Qualifications

Must be U.S. Citizen – Non-US Citizens may be considered
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the U.S.
Board Certification in Pulmonology/Critical Care and Internal Medicine is preferred, but Board Eligibility may also be considered.

Working Hours

Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, (May be required to work evenings or weekends as a 24/7 Full-Time Physician). Full time 40 hours per week, ad-hoc telework eligible, Not Remote.

Nationwide Mobility – Relocate without loss of benefits, vacation, or pay

Recruitment/Relocation Incentive: May be authorized for highly qualified applicants
Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA
Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)
Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
CME: Must be full-time with board certification
Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided
Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restrictions on moonlighting
