Lead Clinical Care at an Established Behavioral Health Facility
An established behavioral health facility in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking an experienced Psychiatrist Medical Director to provide clinical leadership and direct patient care within a well-established psychiatric treatment program.
This opportunity is ideal for a psychiatrist who enjoys combining hands-on clinical practice with physician leadership, multidisciplinary collaboration, and quality improvement. The facility currently serves approximately 70 patients, with capacity for approximately 80, and also operates a small Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) onsite.
The Medical Director will play an important role in guiding psychiatric services, supporting the clinical team, and maintaining high standards of patient safety, treatment quality, and clinical outcomes.
Job Responsibilities
• Provide clinical leadership and oversight for psychiatric services.
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations, medication management, treatment planning, and patient stabilization.
• Participate in admissions, discharges, treatment reviews, and ongoing clinical decision-making.
• Guide and collaborate with psychiatrists, nursing staff, therapists, case managers, and other multidisciplinary team members.
• Work closely with facility leadership to support effective clinical operations and care coordination.
• Support quality improvement, patient safety, documentation standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Help coordinate psychiatric care across inpatient services and the onsite PHP program
Qualifications
• MD or DO with completed residency training in Psychiatry.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
• Active Ohio medical license preferred, or willingness and ability to obtain one.
• Strong experience in inpatient psychiatry or hospital-based behavioral health.
• Previous Medical Director, Associate Medical Director, Chief Psychiatrist, or senior attending experience preferred.
• Comfortable providing clinical oversight in a facility with approximately 70 current patients and capacity for approximately 80.
• Experience with PHP, detoxification, residential treatment, dual diagnosis, or substance use disorders is an advantage.
• Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and clinical decision-making skills.
