NorTek Medical Staffing is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible General Adult Psychiatrist to join an established 140-bed inpatient behavioral health hospital in Valdosta, Georgia.
This opportunity is ideal for a psychiatrist seeking a full-time clinical role focused on adult inpatient psychiatry, without Medical Director or executive leadership responsibilities. You will work within an established multidisciplinary team supported by experienced nurse practitioners, therapists, nurses, and social workers.
The hospital offers a comprehensive continuum of behavioral healthcare services, including acute inpatient treatment, a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).

Job Responsibilities
Conduct psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments.
Provide ongoing psychiatric care for adult inpatients.
Manage medications and monitor treatment response.
Develop and update individualized treatment plans.
Assess suicide risk, patient safety, psychiatric acuity, and discharge readiness.
Provide physician-level consultation and clinical guidance to nurse practitioners.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary treatment team.
Support admissions, continued-stay reviews, and discharge planning.
Evaluate complex psychiatric presentations and behavioral crises.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with regulatory standards.
Support continuity of care across inpatient, PHP, and IOP services when appropriate.
Qualifications
MD or DO degree.
Completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
Active Georgia medical license or willingness to obtain one.
Active DEA registration or eligibility to obtain one.
Comfortable treating adults in an acute inpatient psychiatric setting.
Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills.
Ability to complete credentialing and background screening.
Previous adult inpatient psychiatry experience and experience treating high-acuity psychiatric conditions are preferred.
Schedule and Compensation
This is a full-time, Monday–Friday inpatient position. Weekend and call expectations will be discussed during the interview process.
