Inpatient Psychiatrist Locum Opportunity – Oregon

We are seeking a Psychiatrist for an inpatient behavioral health consultation locum assignment in Eugene, Oregon, beginning January 2027. This position provides consultative psychiatric services for adult hospitalized patients with a flexible two-weeks-per-month coverage model.

Assignment Details

• Start Date: January 4, 2027
• Initial assignment approximately 6 months
• Coverage needed 2 weeks per month
• Preferred schedule is a 7-day stretch every other week

Schedule

• 10-hour day shifts
• 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Coverage stretches may run Monday–Sunday
• No call

Practice Setting

• Inpatient Psychiatry / Consult-Liaison Behavioral Health
• Adult patients
• 32-bed inpatient setting
• Provider works collaboratively with an established team
• No procedures required

Patient Volume

• Approximately 15–18 consults/encounters on busy days
• May see up to 20 patients per day

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient psychiatric consultations
• Behavioral health evaluation and management
• Rounding
• Admissions
• Collaborate with the inpatient care team

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Inpatient/consultative Behavioral Health experience
• BLS required
• Active state license preferred, but not required
• Must demonstrate inpatient or consultative services for at least 30 patients within the previous 24 months, unless qualifying through recent residency/fellowship
• COVID-19 vaccination required; no exemptions

Credentialing

• Recent residency graduates must provide residency case logs
• Other candidates must provide a hospital quality profile demonstrating clinical activity over the previous 24 months

Ideal Candidate

A Psychiatrist with Consult-Liaison or inpatient behavioral health experience who can consistently provide two weeks of coverage per month, ideally in alternating 7-day blocks. This assignment offers daytime-only coverage with no call and does not require an active Oregon license at presentation.
