A confidential, mission-driven behavioral health organization is seeking an experienced Psychiatrist – Regional Medical Director to provide clinical and physician leadership across multiple treatment programs in the Seattle Metro Area.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced psychiatrist who wants to combine clinical practice, physician leadership, quality improvement, provider development, and strategic healthcare leadership.
The Regional Medical Director will partner with executive and operational leadership to promote consistent, high-quality psychiatric and medical care across the region while maintaining a limited clinical practice.
Job Responsibilities
Provide physician leadership across multiple regional treatment programs.
Establish and maintain high standards of psychiatric and medical care.
Support evidence-based clinical practices and patient safety initiatives.
Serve as a clinical resource for complex cases and treatment planning.
Promote collaboration among physicians, APPs and multidisciplinary clinical teams.
Provider Leadership & Development
Mentor and support psychiatrists, physicians and advanced practice providers.
Participate in provider recruitment, onboarding and retention initiatives.
Support professional development and continuing education.
Provide guidance regarding provider performance and clinical development.
Contribute to physician engagement and succession planning.
Medical Operations
Provide oversight of regional psychiatric and medical service delivery.
Partner with site and operational leaders regarding provider scheduling and access.
Identify staffing needs and operational barriers.
Support improvements in clinical workflows and patient experience.
Promote consistency of care across treatment locations.
Strategic Leadership
Partner with executive leadership on regional clinical initiatives.
Support program growth and expansion.
Identify opportunities to improve clinical outcomes and patient access.
Evaluate and implement clinical innovations.
Help align clinical strategy with organizational objectives.
Quality & Compliance
Support regulatory and accreditation compliance.
Monitor clinical quality and outcome indicators.
Participate in quality-improvement initiatives.
Support utilization management and medical-necessity activities.
Assist with audits, accreditation reviews and regulatory requirements.
Participate in patient-safety and risk-management initiatives.
Clinical Practice
Maintain limited direct patient-care responsibilities.
Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments.
Provide medication management and treatment planning.
Participate in multidisciplinary case consultation.
Support crisis intervention and risk-management activities as needed.
Qualifications
Board Certification in Psychiatry
Active, unrestricted medical license
Current unrestricted DEA registration
BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain
Demonstrated physician/medical leadership experience
Experience supervising physicians, APPs or multidisciplinary healthcare teams
Experience with electronic health record systems
Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
Working Hours
Monday–Friday professional schedule with a combination of regional medical leadership responsibilities and limited clinical practice. Schedule may vary based on regional operational and clinical needs.
