Job description
We are seeking a Psychiatrist for an inpatient locum assignment in New Jersey from October 2026 through January 2027. This is a weekday position treating adult involuntary psychiatric patients, with optional call and an established multidisciplinary support team.
Assignment Details
- Start Date: October 26, 2026
- End Date: January 25, 2027
- Adult inpatient Psychiatry
- Involuntary patient population
- No outpatient clinic responsibilities
Schedule
- Monday–Friday
- 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
- Call is optional
- No required call
Practice Setting
- Inpatient Psychiatry
- Adult population
- Approximately 10–20 patients
- Epic EMR
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric care to adult inpatients
- Evaluate and manage involuntary psychiatric patients
- Inpatient rounding and ongoing management
- Work collaboratively with the established behavioral health team
Support Staff
- Residents
- Nurses
- Social workers
- APN support
- Additional attending psychiatrists
- No responsibility for supervising APPs
Requirements
- MD or DO
- Board Certified or Board Eligible
- Active New Jersey license or IMLC required
Credentialing
- Emergency privileges available
- Temporary privileges available
- Full privileges available
Ideal Candidate
A BC/BE Psychiatrist with an active New Jersey license or IMLC who is comfortable treating adult involuntary psychiatric patients in an inpatient setting. This opportunity offers a consistent Monday–Friday daytime schedule with no required call.
