Client is seeking an experienced Inpatient Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive psychiatric care within a behavioral health facility in Memphis, Tennessee.

This full-time W2 opportunity offers a structured Monday–Friday schedule, competitive compensation, and the opportunity to work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary inpatient care environment.

The ideal candidate is a psychiatrist who enjoys acute psychiatric care, medication management, patient stabilization, and working alongside experienced clinical teams to support positive patient outcomes.

Job Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities:
Conduct inpatient psychiatric evaluations and provide ongoing patient care.
Diagnose and treat acute psychiatric conditions, including mood disorders, psychotic disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma-related disorders, substance use disorders, and other complex behavioral health conditions.
Manage medication treatment plans and monitor patient progress throughout hospitalization.
Provide evidence-based psychiatric care focused on stabilization, recovery, and continuity of care.
Collaborate with therapists, nurses, social workers, case managers, APPs, and facility leadership.
Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and discharge planning.
Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation within the EMR.
Support safe, effective, and patient-centered inpatient psychiatric treatment.
Provide clinical guidance or supervision to APPs, depending on facility structure.

Qualifications

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
MD or DO degree.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
Active Tennessee medical license or eligibility to obtain one.
Experience in inpatient psychiatry strongly preferred.
Comfortable managing acute and higher-acuity psychiatric populations.
Strong diagnostic skills and experience with psychiatric medication management.
Ability to work effectively within a structured hospital-based environment.
Strong communication skills and commitment to collaborative care.
Reliable, team-oriented, and detail-focused approach to patient care.

Preferred Experience:
Candidates with experience in the following areas are encouraged to apply:
Adult/general inpatient psychiatry
Addiction psychiatry and dual diagnosis treatment
Geriatric psychiatry
Forensic psychiatry
Child and adolescent psychiatry
High-acuity behavioral health settings

Working Hours

Full-time, Monday–Friday. Call/weekend expectations to be discussed during interview.
