Client is seeking an experienced Psychiatrist Medical Director to provide clinical leadership for an adult behavioral health program in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The program provides services across adult inpatient psychiatry, detox, and residential behavioral health. The facility will initially operate in deemed status, with a gradual census ramp as the program develops.
Client is open to a physician who begins part-time and transitions to full-time within approximately two months, as well as physicians who prefer to begin full-time from the start.
This opportunity is well suited for a psychiatrist with inpatient behavioral health experience who is interested in combining direct patient care with medical leadership, clinical oversight, and program development.

Job Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership:
Serve as Psychiatrist Medical Director for adult behavioral health services.
Provide clinical direction and oversight for psychiatric care delivery.
Establish and maintain high standards for clinical quality, patient safety, and treatment outcomes.
Support the development and implementation of clinical workflows as the program grows.
Patient Care:
Provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and clinical stabilization.
Provide direct psychiatric care across adult inpatient, detox, and residential programs.
Participate in admissions, discharges, treatment planning, and clinical reviews.
Assess patient progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
Support the management of complex behavioral health and psychiatric presentations.
Program & Operational Support:
Collaborate with facility leadership, nursing, therapy, case management, and operations teams.
Support census ramp-up and the development of effective clinical processes.
Help establish consistent standards and workflows across the program's service lines.
Participate in quality improvement and clinical performance initiatives.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and support regulatory and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
MD or DO with completed Psychiatry training.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
Colorado medical license preferred, or ability and willingness to obtain.
Strong inpatient psychiatry experience preferred.
Prior experience as a Medical Director, Associate Medical Director, Chief Psychiatrist, or senior attending physician preferred.
Experience with one or more of the following is preferred:
Adult inpatient psychiatry
Detox
Residential behavioral health
Dual-diagnosis treatment
Substance use populations
Strong clinical judgment and communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with facility leadership and multidisciplinary clinical teams.
Comfortable working in a program with a slower initial census and anticipated growth.
Interest in contributing to both clinical care and program development.
