Client is seeking an experienced Psychiatrist Medical Director for a behavioral health facility in Columbus, Ohio.

The facility currently has a census of approximately 70 patients with capacity for approximately 80 patients. A small Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is also located onsite.

This is a full-time physician leadership opportunity for a psychiatrist who is comfortable working in a higher-census behavioral health environment and can provide both direct clinical care and medical leadership.

The Psychiatrist Medical Director will provide clinical oversight, support multidisciplinary care delivery, and work closely with facility leadership to maintain high standards of quality, safety, and patient care.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Leadership:
Serve as the Psychiatrist Medical Director for the behavioral health facility.
Provide clinical oversight and direction for psychiatric care delivery.
Establish and maintain high standards for clinical quality, patient safety, and treatment outcomes.
Provide clinical guidance to psychiatric and multidisciplinary care teams.
Support effective coordination across clinical services.

Patient Care:
Provide psychiatric evaluations, treatment, medication management, and clinical stabilization.
Participate in treatment planning, admissions, discharges, and clinical reviews.
Evaluate patient progress and make appropriate treatment recommendations.
Provide direct psychiatric care within the facility's behavioral health programs.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with facility leadership, nursing, therapy, case management, and operations.
Work with other providers and clinical team members to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
Support communication and coordination between inpatient services and the onsite PHP as appropriate.
Provide guidance and clinical leadership to other providers as applicable.

Quality & Compliance:
Support clinical quality-improvement initiatives.
Maintain appropriate standards for documentation and patient safety.
Ensure psychiatric services follow applicable clinical, regulatory, and facility requirements.
Participate in clinical reviews and initiatives designed to improve care delivery.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
MD or DO with completed Psychiatry training.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
Ohio medical license preferred, or ability and willingness to obtain.
Strong experience in inpatient behavioral health preferred.
Previous experience as a Medical Director, Associate Medical Director, Chief Psychiatrist, or senior attending physician preferred.
Comfortable providing clinical leadership within a facility with a census of approximately 70 patients.
Experience with PHP, detox, residential behavioral health, dual diagnosis, or substance use populations is a plus.
Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and clinical decision-making skills.
Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and facility leadership.
