Psychiatrist Locum Opportunity – Longview, WA

We are seeking a Board Certified Psychiatrist for a full-time locum opportunity in Longview, Washington, beginning November 2026. This assignment combines adult inpatient and outpatient Psychiatry with a consistent Monday–Friday schedule and experienced psychiatric support.

Assignment Details

• Start Date: November 30, 2026
• Current approval through February 28, 2027
• 1.0 FTE
• 1 physician needed
• Additional coverage may become available
• Combination of inpatient and outpatient Psychiatry

Schedule

• Monday–Friday
• 8:00 AM–5:00 PM with 1-hour lunch
• Approximately 5–7 inpatient shifts per month
• Approximately 12–19 outpatient clinic days per month
• Split inpatient/outpatient days:
  • 8:00 AM–12:00 PM: Inpatient
  • 12:00 PM–1:00 PM: Lunch
  • 1:00 PM–5:00 PM: Outpatient
• Occasional 7:30 AM start for court
• Occasional night call
• Weekend coverage approximately once per quarter
• Weekend inpatient telepsychiatry may be performed remotely if the physician resides in Washington

Practice Setting

• Adult Psychiatry / Behavioral Health
• Inpatient and outpatient coverage
• Hospital and clinic approximately 5 minutes apart
• Hospital and clinic privileges required
• 126-bed hospital
• Epic EMR

Patient Volume

• Approximately 12–14 patients per day
• Adult population
• Outpatient clinic primarily consists of follow-up patients
• Approximately 5–7 new patients as applicable
• New patient appointments: 90 minutes
• Transfer appointments: 60 minutes
• Follow-ups: 30 minutes
• Dedicated documentation time
• No overbooking

Clinical Responsibilities

• Adult inpatient and outpatient Psychiatry
• Inpatient rounding
• Admissions and discharges
• Psychiatric evaluations
• Medication management
• New patient evaluations
• Follow-up and transfer-of-care visits
• Occasional court responsibilities
• Occasional night call
• Limited weekend telepsychiatry coverage

Support Staff

• Psychiatric Hospitalist coverage available on the inpatient floor from 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
• Experienced Psychiatric NP support
• Physician will have independent responsibilities but will not be the sole inpatient psychiatric coverage

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Certified in Psychiatry
• BLS required
• Minimum 2 years of experience
• Epic experience required
• Washington license strongly preferred
• IMLC may be considered with LOQ already in hand and ability to apply immediately
• Active Washington license required for urgent credentialing

Credentialing

• Approximately 60–90 days
• Fast-track credentialing may be needed
• Previous 24 months of clinical activity required
• Case log must document at least 100 patients representative of requested privileges
• Case logs must include diagnosis/clinical service, date, and facility
• 8 hours of non-billable orientation

Ideal Candidate

A Board Certified Psychiatrist with at least 2 years of experience who is comfortable providing a combination of adult inpatient and outpatient care. Candidates with an active Washington license, Epic experience, and availability for the full Monday–Friday schedule are particularly well suited for this assignment.
