Our client is seeking an experienced Psychiatrist Medical Director to provide clinical leadership and direct patient care at an established behavioral health facility in Columbus, Ohio.
The facility currently serves approximately 70 patients, with capacity for approximately 80 patients, and also operates a small Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) onsite.
This is a full-time physician leadership opportunity for a psychiatrist who is comfortable working in a higher-census behavioral health setting and enjoys combining clinical care, physician leadership, multidisciplinary collaboration, and quality oversight.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership
- Serve as Psychiatrist Medical Director for the facility.
- Provide clinical oversight and direction for psychiatric services.
- Establish and maintain standards for clinical quality, patient safety, and treatment outcomes.
- Provide clinical guidance to psychiatric and multidisciplinary teams.
- Support coordination across behavioral health services.
Job Responsibilities
Conduct psychiatric evaluations and provide ongoing treatment.
Manage medications and provide clinical stabilization.
Participate in admissions, treatment planning, clinical reviews, and discharges.
Evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment recommendations as appropriate.
Provide direct psychiatric care within the facility's behavioral health programs.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration
Collaborate with facility leadership, nursing, therapists, case management, and operations.
Coordinate comprehensive patient care with other providers and clinical team members.
Support communication between inpatient services and the onsite PHP program.
Provide clinical guidance and leadership to other providers as applicable.
Qualifications
Participate in quality-improvement initiatives.
Promote appropriate clinical documentation and patient-safety standards.
Ensure psychiatric services follow applicable clinical, regulatory, and facility requirements.
Participate in clinical reviews and initiatives focused on improving care delivery.
Qualifications
MD or DO degree.
Completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency program.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
Active Ohio medical license preferred, or ability and willingness to obtain.
Strong inpatient behavioral health experience preferred.
Previous experience as a Medical Director, Associate Medical Director, Chief Psychiatrist, or senior attending physician preferred.
Comfortable providing clinical leadership in a facility with approximately 70 patients.
Experience with PHP, detox, residential behavioral health, dual diagnosis, or substance use populations is a plus.
Strong clinical judgment, leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
