Work Model: 50/50 Hybrid

We are seeking a Board-Certified Psychiatrist to serve as Regional Medical Director for our expanding New Jersey behavioral health program.

This is a unique opportunity for a physician who enjoys both clinical leadership and direct patient care. The role is structured approximately 50% clinical leadership and 50% direct psychiatric care, with a particular focus on Spravato® (esketamine) and treatment-resistant depression.

Job Responsibilities

What You'll Do

Clinical Leadership – 50%

Lead and mentor psychiatrists, psychiatric NPs, therapists, and other clinical professionals.
Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding clinical providers.
Provide clinical supervision, case consultation, and chart review.
Establish consistent diagnostic, prescribing, documentation, and patient-safety standards.
Support regulatory compliance and clinical governance.
Partner with corporate leadership to grow the New Jersey clinical program.

Direct Patient Care – 50%

Evaluate and manage adult psychiatric patients.
Provide evidence-based medication management for complex mood disorders.
Evaluate patients for Spravato/esketamine treatment.
Provide medical oversight of interventional psychiatry services.
Manage patients with treatment-resistant depression and other complex psychiatric conditions.
Collaborate with therapists, psychiatric providers, and care coordinators.

Qualifications

The organization provides centralized administrative support for scheduling, billing, prior authorizations, REMS compliance, marketing, and facilities, allowing the Medical Director to focus on clinical care and leadership.

Qualifications

Required:

MD or DO
Board Certification in Psychiatry
Active, unrestricted New Jersey medical license
Active DEA registration
Demonstrated clinical leadership, supervision, or management experience
Strong experience in psychiatric diagnosis and medication management
Strong knowledge of mood disorders and treatment-resistant depression
Comfort working with multidisciplinary behavioral health teams

Preferred:

Spravato/esketamine experience
Interventional psychiatry experience
Experience developing or scaling behavioral health programs
Experience with technology-enabled healthcare platforms and cloud-based EHRs
