We are seeking a Board Certified Psychiatrist for an inpatient psychiatry locum tenens opportunity in Grand Forks, ND.

The physician will provide inpatient psychiatric care across adult and adolescent populations, along with Emergency Department and general hospital consultations. This is a 7 days on / 7 days off opportunity with a collaborative psychiatric care model.

The position is available due to an inpatient psychiatrist transitioning to an outpatient role and is open ended.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient psychiatric care on a 24 bed inpatient unit
• Evaluate & manage adult psychiatric patients
• Provide inpatient care for adolescent patients, including a 6 bed adolescent unit
• Evaluate patients of all ages and diagnoses presenting to the Emergency Department
• Provide psychiatric consultations to the general hospital
• Develop & manage individualized treatment plans
• Collaborate with another psychiatrist working the complementary 7 day rotation
• Work with APPs when available
• Collaborate with social work, discharge planning & intake teams
• Utilize telemedicine when appropriate for general hospital consultations
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Epic EMR

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Board Certified in Psychiatry
• Experience providing inpatient psychiatric care
• Comfortable treating adult & adolescent patients
• Willing to evaluate psychiatric patients of all ages and diagnoses in the ED
• Willing to provide general hospital psychiatric consultations
• Epic EMR experience required
• Comfortable working a 7 days on / 7 days off schedule
• Ability to collaborate with another psychiatrist & multidisciplinary care teams

Working Hours

• 7 days on / 7 days off
• 7 AM–7 PM shifts
• Approximately 1–2 nights of call during each 7 day assignment
• Rotation change typically occurs on Thursday
• Must be willing to work in a 7 on / 7 off model with another psychiatrist
• Some flexibility around the start date may be available within the same week
