WCS Healthcare Partners is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to oversee and clinically manage a growing inpatient psychiatric service. This role combines direct patient care, resident supervision, and program leadership, offering a clear path for future advancement. The inpatient service is expanding, with growth in the residency program and the conversion of an existing detox unit into an additional inpatient psychiatry unit. This opportunity is ideal for a physician leader passionate about academic medicine and operational involvement.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Clinical Director for Inpatient Psychiatry, providing leadership, oversight, and direction across inpatient psych units.
  • Maintain full clinical responsibilities, including direct patient care on the inpatient units.
  • Supervise psychiatry residents at varying levels of training; ensure high-quality teaching, evaluation, and clinical oversight.
  • Collaborate closely with the Chair of Psychiatry, Nursing Leadership, and Hospital Administration.
  • Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and state DOH behavioral health regulations.
  • Lead or participate in quality initiatives, incident reviews, and performance improvement efforts.
  • Act as a clinical resource across departments, including emergency, outpatient psychiatry, and community programs.
  • Provide cross-coverage for departmental leadership as needed.
  • Participate in committees focused on quality, safety, and patient experience.

Requirements

  • MD or DO, Board Certified in Psychiatry (ABPN).
  • Active or eligible state medical license.
  • Minimum 2 years of inpatient psychiatry experience.
  • Prior experience supervising residents strongly preferred.
  • Interest in academic medicine, program development, and clinical leadership.
  • Strong communication and collaborative leadership style.
