Contract Psychiatrist – Kerrville, TX
Location: Kerrville, TX
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Contract: 6-month initial assignment with potential extension
Start: ASAP
Setting: Inpatient Forensic Behavioral Health
Seeking an experienced Psychiatrist for an adult inpatient forensic behavioral health setting. Average caseload is approximately 24 patients, including individuals found Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI).
Position Details
- 40 hours per week
- No after-hours or weekend call
- Full-time onsite preferred; may consider as little as 25% onsite pending approval
- Psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication management
- Lead and collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team
- Approximately 1–2 admissions/discharges per month
- Court documentation and testimony as needed
- Participate in medical staff meetings and quality improvement activities
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Texas medical license with no sanctions
- Active DEA registration
- Current AHA-approved CPR certification
- Adult behavioral health/psychiatric experience
- Ability to complete facility credentialing and background requirements
Preferred
- Inpatient psychiatry experience
- Forensic behavioral health experience
- NGRI or justice-involved population experience
- Court documentation/testimony experience
