Locum Psychiatrist – Washington – Inpatient & Outpatient Coverage - (DM)

Schedule: Full-Time | Inpatient & Outpatient Coverage

We are seeking a psychiatrist for a combined inpatient and outpatient locum tenens opportunity in Washington. The assignment includes a mix of inpatient coverage, outpatient clinic days, and occasional call.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient psychiatric coverage approximately 5–7 shifts per month.
• Provide outpatient psychiatric care approximately 12–19 days per month.
• Manage both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric patients.
• Provide inpatient coverage during scheduled morning sessions, followed by outpatient clinic coverage when applicable.
• Participate in occasional night call as needed.
• Provide weekend inpatient telepsychiatry coverage approximately once per quarter.
• Weekend inpatient telehealth coverage may be performed remotely for providers residing in Washington.
• Attend court-related responsibilities when required, which may occasionally require an earlier start.
• Collaborate with the behavioral health team and other healthcare professionals.
• Complete required clinical documentation.

Qualifications

• MD/DO required.
• Psychiatry training and appropriate board certification/eligibility required.
• Experience providing both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care preferred.
• Ability to provide telepsychiatry coverage.
• Washington-based providers preferred for remote weekend telepsychiatry coverage.
• Must be comfortable with occasional call and weekend coverage.

Working Hours

Clinic Days:
8:00 AM–5:00 PM with 1-hour lunch

Inpatient/Outpatient Split Days:
8:00 AM–12:00 PM – Inpatient
12:00 PM–1:00 PM – Lunch
1:00 PM–5:00 PM – Outpatient Clinic

Occasional Court Days:
Start time may be as early as 7:30 AM.

Weekend Coverage:
Approximately once per quarter for inpatient telepsychiatry.
