Job description
We are seeking an Inpatient Psychiatrist for a locum tenens position at an acute care hospital in Macon, Georgia. This is an adult inpatient psychiatry role on a 20-bed unit with a collaborative multidisciplinary team. Please see below for more information.
- Adult inpatient psychiatry on a 20-bed unit; average daily census of 10 patients
- Support team of 2 full-time psychiatrists, 2 full-time APPs, and 2 PRN psychiatrists
- Psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and treatment team leadership
- Experience in a Medical Director or leadership role preferred
- Epic EMR
- 3 months with option to extend
Job Responsibilities
- Perform psychiatric evaluations and medication management
- Provide treatment team leadership
- Manage an average daily census of approximately 10 patients
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
Qualifications
- MD or DO
- Active Georgia state license required (IMLC/Compact eligible considered)
- BLS and DEA required
- Minimum 2 years of inpatient experience
- Epic EMR experience required
- Medical Director or leadership experience preferred
