We are recruiting a Board-Certified Psychiatrist to join an established outpatient healthcare organization serving Native American communities and the surrounding general population.

The position offers a 32-hour, four-day workweek, approximately 7 patients per day, a $30,000 signing bonus, $5,000 relocation bonus, and eligibility for loan repayment through an HRSA Score 17 facility.

Schedule & Practice

• 32 hours per week
• 4-day workweek
• Monday–Friday operating hours
• 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
• Outpatient setting
• Approximately 7 patients per day
• Two locations: Alpine and Campo, California
• Departmental/government vehicle available for travel between locations

Approximately 40% of the patient population is Native American, with the remaining 60% representing the surrounding community and a broad range of demographics.

Patient Population

The organization would ideally like a Psychiatrist comfortable treating patients as young as age 5, but will consider Psychiatrists who treat other pediatric age ranges.

Common behavioral health needs include:

• ADHD
• Depression
• Anxiety
• Substance use disorders
• Drug and alcohol-related conditions
• Behavioral health needs associated with domestic violence

The organization also operates a Medication Addiction Treatment program, including Suboxone treatment. Pain management cases are referred externally.

You'll practice within an established multidisciplinary environment with access to:

• Dedicated billing and coding support
• Onsite pharmacy
• Clinical Pharmacist
• Approximately 17 Behavioral Health clinicians, including LMFTs, LCSWs, and ASWs
• Physicians and providers across Psychiatry, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, and Internal Medicine

EHR: NextGen with AI Bridge and Dragon Dictation

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations
• Provide medication management
• Diagnose and treat mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders
• Develop individualized treatment plans
• Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, nurses, social workers, and other Behavioral Health professionals
• Support Behavioral Health integration with Primary Care
• Participate in peer review and quality improvement activities
• Review medical records and utilization of care when appropriate
• Participate in community outreach and mental health education
• Maintain timely clinical documentation and regulatory compliance
• Attend provider meetings, clinical conferences, and required training

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Board Certified in Psychiatry
• Active/unrestricted California medical license or ability to maintain one
• Unrestricted DEA registration
• Current CPR and ACLS certifications
• No malpractice claims
• Minimum two years of community-based medical practice experience
• Experience working within multidisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with quality improvement and healthcare delivery systems
• Strong interest in serving Native American communities
• Must be able to work without visa sponsorship; H-1B/visa candidates cannot be considered
