Locums Psychiatrist – Full-Time Inpatient Psychiatry | New Jersey

This full-time locum position offers the chance to work with a diverse and complex inpatient population, including individuals with severe mental illness, civil commitments, and forensic backgrounds. The role is ideal for psychiatrists who enjoy challenging clinical work and making a meaningful impact on underserved patients in a highly structured environment.

Position Highlights:

• Monday–Friday schedule, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
• No nights, weekends, or call requirements
• Full-time commitment (4 consecutive weeks per month)
• Opportunity to work alongside a multidisciplinary team of medical and security professionals
• Fast-paced inpatient setting with high clinical acuity
• Start ASAP (credentialing currently takes approximately 30 days)

Preferred Background:

• Inpatient psychiatry experience
• Experience in forensic, correctional, state hospital, or civil commitment settings
• Familiarity with involuntary treatment, restraint protocols, and management of aggressive patients
• Active New Jersey medical license preferred
• New graduates with relevant inpatient, addiction medicine, correctional, or forensic rotations are welcome to apply
