Our multidisciplinary team is committed to delivering client-centered care, achieving measurable clinical outcomes, and driving continuous quality improvement.

We are seeking a mission-driven Medical Director to lead our psychiatric services and contribute to organizational growth. This leadership role combines clinical oversight, staff mentorship, program development, and regulatory compliance to ensure high-quality care delivery.

As a key member of the behavioral health leadership team, the Medical Director will supervise Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, oversee psychiatric programs, and support a culture of clinical excellence and collaboration.

Job Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership & Program Oversight:
Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners and medical staff
Lead the development and implementation of psychiatric and behavioral health programs aligned with organizational goals
Develop and maintain medical policies, procedures, and clinical protocols
Monitor clinical quality, documentation standards, and regulatory compliance
Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and clinical case reviews

Staff Training & Development:
Deliver training, in-service education, and professional development initiatives
Provide guidance on assessments, treatment planning, admissions, referrals, and discharge processes
Support overdose prevention training and emergency response readiness

Compliance & Quality Assurance:
Ensure compliance with OMH, OASAS, Medicaid, HIPAA, and New York State regulations
Participate in audits, chart reviews, and corrective action planning
Drive continuous quality improvement and corporate compliance initiatives

Crisis Response & Community Engagement:
Participate in crisis response and overdose prevention efforts
Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations and referral networks
Represent the organization with stakeholders, regulators, and external partners

Qualifications

Required:
Licensed Physician in New York State
Board Certification in Psychiatry
Current DEA registration, NPI, and required NYS credentials
Minimum 5 years of experience supervising multidisciplinary clinical teams
Federal DATA 2000 waiver (buprenorphine-certified), where applicable
Strong knowledge of behavioral health, addiction services, and trauma-informed care
Familiarity with NYS behavioral health regulations and compliance standards
Proficiency in EHR systems, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace
Ability to pass background screenings and Medicaid exclusion checks

Preferred:
Experience in behavioral health or substance use disorder treatment settings
Experience with OMH and/or OASAS licensed programs

Working Hours

This role is primarily based in office and clinical settings, with potential for telehealth services. Responsibilities may include extended periods of sitting or standing, computer work, and occasional movement throughout the facility. Limited travel may be required.
