St. James Health and Wellness, a CIMS network center, is seeking a Psychiatrist to join their team. The
Psychiatrist at St. James Health and Wellness provides comprehensive psychiatric
assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and consultation services to children, adolesc ents,
and adults served by the health center. The psychiatrist works as part of a multidisciplinary
team to support integrated behavioral health services in alignment with the health center s
mission to provide accessible, high quality care to underserved populations. This role is
crucial in promoting mental wellness and improving the quality of life for patients through
expert assessment, diagnosis, and therapeutic intervention.

Job Responsibilities
Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications in accordance with current standards of care and applicable state and federal regulations.
Collaborate with primary care providers, social workers, psychologists, and other behavioral health staff to ensure integrated, team-based care.
Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services when appropriate.
Participate in case conferences, quality improvement activities, and regular team meetings.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
Serve as a resource for clinical consultation and staff training regarding psychiatric issues.
Support efforts in population health, care coordination, and continuity of care.
Comply with all applicable HIPAA, CMS, and Joint Commission regulations.
Participate in after-hours on-call coverage, if required.
Qualifications
- M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school
-Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Psychiatry
-Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry; Child and Adolescent Psychiatry certification preferred or required based on scope.
-Licensed to practice medicine in South Carolina
-DEA license with Schedule II-V privileges
Preferred:
-Experience working in a community health setting or with underserved populations.
- Bilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish) are a plus.
