Job description
Adult Inpatient forensic psychiatrist. New Jersey location. This opening is a Monday-to-Friday schedule, 8 am to 4:30 pm daily. The average caseload is approximately 25 patients per psychiatrist. The ideal candidate will manage and oversee the collaborative team process from admission to discharge. The collaborative team includes a psychologist, social worker, psychiatric nurse, and other required staff members to provide optimal patient rehabilitation.
This position can be a temporary opportunity to start and transition to permanent placement.

Job Responsibilities
Medication Management: Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications while watching for therapeutic efficacy and side effects.
Team Leadership: Lead daily interdisciplinary treatment team meetings alongside nurses, social workers, and therapists to coordinate stabilization goals.
Crisis Intervention: Manage acute behavioral or psychiatric crises using rapid de-escalation and safety planning
Qualifications
Board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry
Unrestricted DEA
Unrestricted state-controlled substance license
Working Hours
Monday through Friday schedule.
