We are seeking a Geriatric Inpatient Psychiatrist for a locum tenens assignment beginning September 9, 2026.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with both Geriatric and Adult Inpatient Psychiatry populations.

About the Facility

• Unit size: 22 beds
• Average daily census: 18–30 patients
• Average length of stay: 14–15 days
• Patient volume: Up to 8 patients per day
• All patients are admitted to the unit
• Physician coverage: 3 psychiatrists supporting 22 beds
• No psychiatric NPs or PAs on the unit
• EMR system: Epic Active

Job Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient psychiatric care for geriatric patients
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage psychiatric conditions
• Conduct patient assessments and develop treatment plans
• Collaborate with the psychiatric care team to provide comprehensive patient care
• Manage up to 8 patients per day within the inpatient setting

Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts medical license required
• Massachusetts candidates highly preferred
• Must have experience in Geriatric Inpatient Psychiatry
• Candidates with experience in both Geriatric and Adult Inpatient Psychiatry are strongly preferred
• Flu vaccination required with no exceptions or waivers

Working Hours

• Start Date: September 9, 2026
• End Date: December 11, 2026
• Assignment length: 3 months with possibility of extension and future shifts
• Schedule: Monday–Friday
• Hours: 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
• Lunch: 30-minute unpaid lunch
• Call requirement: None
