An established behavioral health facility in Canton, Ohio is seeking a Psychiatrist to join its clinical team.
This is a clinical Psychiatrist position — not a Medical Director role. The focus is on direct patient care, psychiatric evaluation, medication management, treatment planning, and collaboration with an experienced multidisciplinary team.
The facility currently serves approximately 70 patients, with capacity for approximately 80, and also operates a small PHP program onsite.
Job Responsibilities
Full-time Psychiatrist preferred
Part-time may be considered for a strong candidate
$350,000–$400,000 annual compensation for full-time
Established behavioral health facility
Current census of approximately 70 patients
Facility capacity of approximately 80 patients
Inpatient behavioral health services
Small PHP program onsite
No Medical Director responsibilities
Direct clinical care with strong interdisciplinary collaboration
Opportunity to work alongside nursing, therapy, case management, and facility leadership
Qualifications
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations
Provide ongoing psychiatric treatment and medication management
Develop and participate in individualized treatment plans
Participate in admissions, discharges, and clinical reviews
Provide consistent psychiatric coverage for assigned patients
Support inpatient and PHP services as assigned
Monitor patient stabilization and treatment progress
Collaborate with nursing, therapy, case management, and facility leadership
Participate actively in interdisciplinary treatment planning
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Support quality, safety, and clinical standards throughout the facility
Ideal Candidate
MD or DO
Completion of Psychiatry residency training
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
Active Ohio medical license or ability to obtain one
Prior inpatient behavioral health experience preferred
Comfortable working with an active behavioral health census
PHP, detox, residential, dual-diagnosis, or substance-use experience is a plus
Strong clinical judgment and patient-care skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Reliable and comfortable providing consistent psychiatric coverage
