Staff Psychiatrist – Comprehensive Behavioral Health
A community-focused healthcare organization in Central Alabama is seeking a compassionate and skilled Staff Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment to children, adolescents, and adults.
The physician will provide evidence-based psychiatric care, develop individualized treatment plans, prescribe medications when clinically appropriate, and collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.

Job Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and consultations
Evaluate children, adolescents, and adults
Obtain detailed medical and psychiatric histories
Diagnose and treat mental health, emotional, and behavioral conditions
Develop individualized treatment plans
Provide medication management when clinically appropriate
Monitor treatment response and modify care plans as needed
Educate patients and families regarding treatment options and mental health conditions
Provide ongoing patient and family support
Coordinate care with schools, community organizations, and other care partners when appropriate
Maintain accurate and timely medical records
Contribute to outpatient psychiatric program development
Participate in development and maintenance of psychiatric clinical standards
Collaborate with medical leadership and multidisciplinary care teams
Perform other clinical responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
MD or equivalent medical degree from an accredited institution
Current and active Alabama medical license
Completion of required medical internship training
Minimum 1 year of experience providing psychiatric care
Ability to provide psychiatric care to children, adolescents, and adults
Strong psychiatric evaluation, diagnostic, and treatment skills
Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to communicate effectively in English
