Our work is centered around our Circle of Support—the belief that effective mental health care extends beyond the individual. We bring together clients, families, therapists, schools, community partners, and other professionals to create a coordinated network of care and support.
Our Counseling Center provides a collaborative environment where clinicians work together to deliver comprehensive, connected care. By integrating psychiatric evaluation and medication management with therapy and other clinical services, we are expanding our ability to support clients and families throughout their mental health journey.
Client is seeking a skilled, compassionate, and collaborative Psychiatrist, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA) with psychiatric experience to join our Counseling Center.
This position is ideal for a clinician who is passionate about working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families and who values coordinated, client-centered care.
The provider will conduct psychiatric evaluations, provide medication management, monitor treatment progress, and collaborate closely with therapists and other members of the clinical team. The position offers an opportunity to practice in a supportive multidisciplinary environment while contributing to the development of integrated behavioral health services within a mission-driven nonprofit organization.

Job Responsibilities
Psychiatric Evaluation & Assessment:
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments for children, adolescents, and young adults.
Evaluate presenting symptoms, mental health history, treatment history, psychosocial factors, and other relevant clinical considerations.
Develop individualized diagnostic impressions and treatment recommendations within the scope of professional practice.
Identify changes in symptoms, functioning, risk, and treatment needs over time.
Coordinate with therapists and other providers to ensure continuity and integration of care.
Medication Management:
Prescribe psychiatric medications in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, professional standards, and individual treatment plans.
Monitor medication effectiveness, adherence, and potential side effects.
Adjust medications and treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
Provide ongoing medication-management follow-up and clinical support.
Educate clients and families regarding medications, expected benefits, potential risks, side effects, and treatment considerations.
Communicate treatment recommendations clearly and compassionately to clients and their families.
Collaborative Care:
Collaborate closely with therapists, clinicians, administrative staff, and other professionals involved in client care.
Participate in case consultations, clinical discussions, and team meetings.
Integrate psychiatric services with therapeutic interventions and other available supports.
Communicate appropriately with families, schools, community partners, and other providers when authorized and clinically appropriate.
Contribute to a multidisciplinary approach that supports the whole client and family.
Help strengthen Client's Circle of Support model through coordinated psychiatric and behavioral health care.
Documentation & Compliance:
Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough clinical documentation.
Document psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, treatment plans, medication changes, follow-up visits, and clinical communications.
Maintain appropriate records in accordance with organizational policies and professional standards.
Protect client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and other applicable privacy requirements.
Maintain compliance with applicable federal and Illinois laws, regulations, licensing requirements, and professional ethical standards.
Maintain appropriate prescribing credentials and professional licensure.
Qualifications
Current, valid Illinois professional license appropriate to the position:
Psychiatrist; or
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP/NP); or
Physician Assistant (PA) qualified and appropriately credentialed to provide psychiatric services.
Appropriate board certification and/or professional certification consistent with the individual's role and scope of practice.
Current prescribing credentials and authority appropriate to the position.
Demonstrated experience providing psychiatric or mental health services to children, adolescents, and/or young adults.
Strong experience with psychiatric evaluation and medication management.
Knowledge of evidence-based psychiatric treatment approaches.
Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team.
Strong commitment to confidentiality, ethical practice, and client-centered care.
Compassionate and respectful approach to working with children, young people, and families.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in an outpatient behavioral health or counseling setting.
Experience collaborating with therapists and other behavioral health professionals.
Experience working with families and caregivers.
Familiarity with trauma-informed care.
Familiarity with culturally responsive and inclusive clinical practices.
Experience working with schools, community organizations, or other support systems.
Interest in integrated or collaborative behavioral healthcare.
