Job description
We are seeking a Board-Certified Psychiatrist for an inpatient child and adolescent psychiatry opportunity in California. The facility operates two inpatient units serving child patients and adolecent patients.
Job Responsibilities
-Provide daily psychiatric rounds and manage a census of approximately 12–14 patients
-Provide medication management and monitor treatment response
-Diagnose and treat a broad range of psychiatric disorders
-Provide crisis intervention and manage acute psychiatric symptoms
-Respond to psychiatric emergencies during assigned call shifts
-Complete admissions and provide coverage for patients presenting during call
-Collaborate with therapists, nurses, social workers, and other members of the multidisciplinary treatment team
-Communicate with families regarding treatment plans and clinical progress
-Maintain timely and accurate medical documentation in the EMR
-Participate in treatment planning and discharge planning
Qualifications
-Active California medical license required
-Inpatient psychiatric experience strongly preferred
Working Hours
-8-hour clinical shifts with a primary need for daytime coverage
-Weekday overnight call: Approximately 14-hour call shifts during assigned call weeks
-Occasional weekend coverage may be required
Skills
-Recent experience treating children and adolescents within the past 2 years
-Familiarity with seclusion and restraint procedures
-Strong communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams
-Comfortable treating a broad range of psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents
