Locum Psychiatrist – Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist (C&A)

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Locum Psychiatrist specializing in Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist (C&A) to provide psychiatric services within a behavioral health setting in New York. The ideal candidate will have experience evaluating, diagnosing, and treating children and adolescents with a wide range of psychiatric and behavioral health conditions.

This is a long-term locum opportunity offering a consistent weekday schedule.

Position Details

• Position: Locum Psychiatrist – Pediatric Psychiatry
• Employment Type: Locum Tenens / Contract
• Location: New York
• Schedule: Monday–Friday
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Shift: Day shift
• Shift Length: 8 hours
• Meal Break: 30 minutes
• On-Call Requirement: No
• Anticipated Start Date: September 2026
• Contract Duration: Long-term assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments for pediatric and adolescent patients.
• Diagnose and treat a variety of mental health, emotional, and behavioral disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Provide medication evaluation, management, and monitoring as appropriate.
• Collaborate with psychologists, social workers, nurses, therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in treatment planning and multidisciplinary case discussions.
• Provide consultation and clinical guidance to members of the healthcare team.
• Ensure high standards of patient care, safety, confidentiality, and professional ethics.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency program.
• Specialized training, experience, or demonstrated competency in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
• Active and unrestricted medical license to practice in New York, or eligibility to obtain appropriate licensure.
• Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Psychiatry; Child and Adolescent Psychiatry certification preferred.
• Current DEA registration, if required for the assignment.
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
