Job description
We are seeking a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist for a locum tenens position on an acute inpatient unit in the Kansas City area (Overland Park/Olathe, Kansas). The unit is part of a non-profit, private free-standing hospital associated with a large health system. This is a full-time, onsite position (W2 or 1099 options). Please see below for more information.
- Child and adolescent acute inpatient unit
- Caseload up to 16 patients per day (up to 3 admissions per day)
- WellSky electronic medical record
- 24/7 onsite nursing staff, clinical team, direct care staff, primary care physicians, labs, and pharmacy onsite
- PMHNP available to assist with caseload; NP supervision optional
Job Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of up to 16 patients per day (up to 3 admissions per day)
- Round on patients during business hours Monday-Friday
- Provide one weekend per month of on-call and rounding
- Collaborate with onsite clinical team and PMHNP support
Qualifications
- MD or DO
- Active Kansas state license
- Experience in acute inpatient psychiatric care preferred
