Job description
We are seeking a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist for a locum tenens position in San Francisco, California. Please see below for more information.
- Acute care hospital
- Epic EMR
- Coverage: 2 weekends per month plus the following Monday/Tuesday, or 2 weeks of full-time weekday coverage in addition to the weekends
Job Responsibilities
• Cover Monday and Tuesday on-site (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) with night call afterward
• Cover 2 weekends per month with approximately 6 hours of rounding and 24-hour call, or provide 2 weeks of full-time weekday coverage in addition to the weekends
• Place admission orders for patients arriving during call shifts
• Administer and manage psychiatric medications for children and adolescents
• Develop comprehensive, individualized treatment plans with a multidisciplinary team and families
• Manage challenging adolescent behaviors using therapeutic and de-escalation techniques
• Lead the multidisciplinary team and provide guidance to other healthcare professionals
Qualifications
• Active California medical license
• CA DEA with Schedule 2/2n
• BLS (AHA)
• Strong foundation in psychopharmacology and psychotherapies
• Experience with adolescent development and family systems
Working Hours
2 weekends per month: approximately 6 hours of rounding starting at 8:00 AM, then on call until 8:00 AM the following day
Alternative: 2 weeks of full-time weekday coverage in addition to the weekends
