Psychiatrist – Child/Adolescent Focus
Location: Harker Heights or Bastrop, Texas
Position Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
Minimum Hours: 32 hours/week
Start Date: April start preferred, due to 3-month credentialing timeline
A mission-driven outpatient healthcare organization is seeking a Psychiatrist to join its behavioral health team in Central Texas. This opportunity is ideal for a provider who enjoys working with children, adolescents, and families in a supportive outpatient setting with a manageable patient schedule, strong benefits, and the opportunity for hybrid work after the initial onboarding period.
The incoming Psychiatrist will serve patients ages 5+ or 13+, depending on provider comfort and site needs. Candidates who only treat adults 18+ will not be the right fit for this role. Common diagnoses include mood disorders, depression, anxiety, and related behavioral health concerns.
Spanish language skills are preferred but not required. Providers who speak Spanish may be eligible for a $5,000 stipend.
Position Highlights

Schedule
- Monday–Friday schedule
- Standard hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Some locations may include Tuesday shifts from 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Hybrid work available after 90 days
Clinical Structure
- 10 scheduled patient slots per day
- Typical actual patient volume: 6–8 patients per day
- Intake appointments: 1 hour
- Follow-up appointments: 45–50 minutes
- Administrative time: 1 hour per week

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a Psychiatrist who is comfortable treating pediatric and adolescent patients and is interested in providing thoughtful, patient-centered behavioral health care in an outpatient setting.
Candidates should be comfortable working with patients experiencing mood disorders, depression, anxiety, and related conditions. Spanish language ability is a plus, but not required.
Interview Process
The hiring process includes:
- A 30-minute virtual interview with one Director
- A 1 hour and 15-minute virtual interview with both Directors and the credentialing team
References are checked after a signed contract by the credentialing team.
