Job Overview – Child Psychiatrist (Day Treatment Program):

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Child Psychiatrist (Day Treatment Program) for our client in Staten Island, NY. This full-time, on-site role provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and continuity of care for children and adolescents transitioning from inpatient programs. You’ll collaborate with therapists, families, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based treatment while also teaching and supervising residents in a supportive, educational environment.

Responsibilities as the Child Psychiatrist (Day Treatment Program):
- Patient Care: Conduct psychiatric evaluations and create individualized treatment plans for children and adolescents with severe or subacute mental health disorders.
- Medication Management: Prescribe, monitor, and adjust medications to ensure safety, efficacy, and adherence.
- Continuity of Care: Support patients transitioning from inpatient to day treatment settings, ensuring seamless care coordination.
- Collaboration: Work closely with therapists, nurses, case managers, and families to deliver integrated, team-based treatment.
- Education & Supervision: Mentor and supervise residents, providing clinical instruction and participating in didactic training.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in Meditech EMR in compliance with all standards.
- Education: Completion of an accredited Psychiatry Residency and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship required.
- Licensure: Active New York State medical license or eligibility for licensure required.
- Certification: Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (Board Eligible candidates may be considered); BCLS and PALS certifications required, ACLS optional.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience providing psychiatric care to children and adolescents in acute, day treatment, or outpatient mental health settings.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with electronic medical records (Meditech preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook).
- Skills & Attributes: Compassionate, team-focused psychiatrist with strong communication, diagnostic, and clinical judgment skills committed to collaborative, patient-centered care.
