Facility in San Francisco, CA seeking Child Psychiatry locums coverage
Rates: $2000/day
Opportunity Highlights
-
Consistent Schedule: We need coverage for 1-2 weekends per month. The schedule involves a 6-hour rounding shift starting at 8 AM on Saturday and Sunday. After rounding is complete, you will be on 24-hour phone call coverage until 8 AM the following day.

Manageable Patient Load: You will be responsible for a patient load of 6-12 patients per day.

Specialized Role: The position requires a strong foundation in psychiatric principles, diagnoses, and treatment modalities for children and adolescents, including psychopharmacology and various psychotherapies.

Collaborative Environment: You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide guidance and supervision to other healthcare professionals.

EMR System: The facility uses Cerner for all charting.

Privileging: The estimated time to secure privileges is 60-90 days
Responsibilities

Conduct daily rounds on the adolescent psychiatric unit.

Provide 24-hour phone call coverage on Saturday and Sunday.

Manage and administer psychiatric medications in children and adolescents.

Develop comprehensive, individualized treatment plans.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, as well as with patients' parents/guardians.

Manage challenging behaviors in adolescent patients using therapeutic interventions and de-escalation techniques.
Provider Requirements
-
Board Status: Board-Certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) or Board-Certified in General Psychiatry with a completed CAP fellowship.

Licensure: An active California State License is REQUIRED. The facility is not able to license for this position.

Experience: Strong experience in a variety of clinical disciplines in child and adolescent psychiatry is required.

Certifications: ACLS/BLS/PALS must be AHA certified for this facility. DEA is also required.

Vaccination: COVID-19 vaccination and booster are required, with medical/religious exemptions only.
