🧠 CHILD & ADOLESCENT PSYCHIATRIST — RALEIGH, NC
(Outpatient. Hybrid. Nobody bothers you after 5.)
Let’s get one thing straight:
This job does not believe in:
- “Let’s just squeeze in one more kid”
- Surprise Saturday clinics
- Bonus formulas that require a PhD in accounting
- Burnout being a “badge of honor”
We prefer licensed psychiatrists who are alive and functioning.
👧 THE PATIENTS
Small humans. Big emotions. Occasionally allergic to eye contact.
You’ll mostly see commercially insured kids and teens dealing with:
- Anxiety
- ADHD
- Mood disorders
- The emotional aftermath of Roblox, TikTok, and middle school
You will not be:
- Triple-booked
- Rushed
- Asked to fix society by Tuesday
💰 THE MONEY (LET’S NOT PRETEND THIS ISN’T IMPORTANT)
Competitive pay. Unlimited incentives. Paid in real time.
Translation: You don’t have to “wait until Q4” to find out if your mortgage is approved.
You show up. You do good work. Money appears. ✨
🕘 THE HOURS (GASP)
- 100% outpatient
- Monday–Friday
- No nights. No weekends. No panic calls during dinner
Hybrid flexibility: Work some days in-office, some days from home — while wearing real shoes only when necessary.
🧩 THE SUPPORT (AKA WHY THIS DOESN’T FEEL TERRIBLE)
You get:
- Front desk staff who answer phones so you don’t have to
- Scheduling & billing handled by professionals (bless them)
- Modern offices with working technology
- A collegial group of psychiatrists, APPs, and therapists
It feels like owning your own practice — Except you don’t own the copier and that’s a blessing.
🧠 EXTRA CREDIT (OPTIONAL)
- Therapy + medication management
- Access to advanced services like TMS and Spravato (location-dependent)
- CME, licensure, malpractice coverage
- Relocation & loan repayment for newer grads
No pressure to:
- Lead committees
- Write white papers
- Become a LinkedIn influencer
Unless you want to. Then go wild.
🏡 WHY RALEIGH?
Because your nervous system deserves a city that doesn’t attack it.
Affordable-ish. Green. Good food. Close enough to everything, far enough from nonsense.
🎯 FINAL VERDICT
This is a real outpatient psychiatry job pretending to be funny so it doesn’t attract the wrong people.
If you’re:
- BE/BC in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
- Curious what it feels like to enjoy your job again
- Ready to practice psychiatry without hating modern life
You should probably look into this.
No chaos. No guilt. No “culture deck.”
Just good work, done well, for patients who need you — and an employer that doesn’t make things weird. For more information, contact Russ Carter at [Register to View]
