An established behavioral health facility in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking an experienced Psychiatrist Medical Director to provide clinical leadership and direct psychiatric care in a well-established inpatient behavioral health setting.
The facility currently serves approximately 70 patients, with capacity for approximately 80 patients, and operates a small Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) onsite.
This full-time opportunity is ideal for a psychiatrist who combines strong clinical judgment with physician leadership skills and enjoys collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to promote high-quality, safe, and effective psychiatric care.
Job Responsibilities
Provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, treatment planning, and clinical stabilization.
Participate in admissions, discharges, treatment reviews, and ongoing patient care decisions.
Guide psychiatric providers and collaborate with nursing, therapy, case management, and facility leadership.
Support coordination of care between inpatient psychiatric services and the onsite PHP.
Promote clinical quality improvement, patient safety, and appropriate documentation.
Support compliance with applicable clinical, regulatory, and facility standards.
Contribute to improved treatment outcomes and effective delivery of behavioral health services.
Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
Active Ohio medical license preferred; willingness and ability to obtain an Ohio license required.
Strong experience in inpatient psychiatry or hospital-based behavioral health.
Previous Medical Director, Associate Medical Director, Chief Psychiatrist, or senior attending experience preferred.
Comfortable providing clinical oversight in a facility with approximately 70 patients and capacity for approximately 80.
Experience with PHP, detoxification, residential treatment, dual diagnosis, or substance use disorders is a plus.
Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and clinical decision-making skills.
