This national behavioral health corporation is seeking to add a board certified/board eligible Psychiatrist to one of its facilities in Bluefield, WV. This facility is a 64 - bed hospital in the beautiful southwestern part of West Virginia with a service area of 275,000. This area is within a short drive to Virginia Tech (football tailgating!) Roanoke VA, Charlotte NC and Charleston WV. The location is also a mecca for outdoor sports enthusiasts offering hiking, white water rafting of different classes from the beginner to the daredevil, skiing and more.

This is a traditional salaried practice with clinic hours, inpatient consults and some ED coverage with the inpatient/outpatient practice being approximately 50-50. We also offer Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). You will be working with two other psychiatrists, two PMHNPs, and a PMHNA. This position includes one weekend on-call each month and one weeknight on-call. Additional on-call days are covered per diem.

Before you even begin, you will receive a healthy relocation package and a generous sign-on bonus. In addition to a competitive salary, you will have a bonus incentive option that is volume based on productivity.

Requirements/Qualifications

• We need a psychiatrist specializing in adults. We would consider a psychiatrist with an addiction fellowship or interested in addiction treatment.
• We would also consider a psychiatrist that is interested in operating a Partial hospitalization Program.
• You will need to be BC/BE. If you’re BE, we prefer less than five years out of residency.
• We can consider J1 and are approved for H1B.

The facility is located in Bluefield, West Virginia. Blessed with beautiful surroundings in the southern part of the state, this area offers a special quality of life for families and is an ideal location for business and industry. Mercer County lies in the ridge and valley region of the extreme southern section of West Virginia, approximately 100 miles from the State Capitol – Charleston, WV. Two major cities in the county are Bluefield and Princeton, the County Seat. Charlotte NC is 2 ½ hours south on I-77; Roanoke is 89 miles to the east and Virginia Tech is 40 miles east in the vibrant Blacksburg/Christiansburg area. The area is a Mecca for outdoor sports which include hiking, camping, white water rafting, fishing, snow skiing etc. A 900-seat performing arts center opened in Princeton eight years ago.

Princeton is known as the Gateway to the Four Seasons Country in the Mid-Atlantic States region. It consists of the southeastern WV and southwestern VA where a large number of hotels, restaurants, shopping areas, and recreational attractions have developed. It is a part of the Bluefield, WV-VA metropolitan area and currently has a population of approximately 110,000. The city is also home for the Princeton Rays baseball team of the Appalachian League. They are presently affiliated with the Tampa Bay Rays. Princeton’s population is approximately 8,000.
