Job description
Expanding Mental Health Center in Southwestern Illinois. Due to this expansion of 4 additional inpatient units, we are seeking several dedicated inpatient psychiatrists to join the mental health care team. The psychiatrist will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and supporting patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.


Job Responsibilities

Patient Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, mental status examinations, and medical history reviews to diagnose and treat patients accurately.
Treatment Planning: Develop and implement personalized treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs, focusing on improving their quality of life.
Medication Management: Prescribe, administer, and monitor the effectiveness and side effects of psychotropic medications.
Therapeutic Intervention: Provide psychotherapy, counseling, and crisis intervention as needed.
Collaboration: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, social workers, nurses, and primary care physicians.
Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed patient records.
Support: Educate patients and their families regarding mental health conditions and treatment options.
Compliance: Adhere to all legal regulations, ethical standards, and safety policies.

Qualifications

Education: Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
Training: Completion of an accredited psychiatry residency program.
Licensure: Active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in Illinois or the ability to obtain one.
Required Controlled Substance License for the state of Illinois. 
Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry (American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology).
DEA: Valid DEA number.
Experience: Proven experience in psychiatric evaluation and treatment.
Skills: Strong diagnostic skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain calm, empathetic, and patient.

Working Hours

Working;
37.5 hours per week; Schedule can be flexible; 4 or 5 days per week.
Inpatient Adult Mental Health setting.
No after-hours call
No Holidays
No weekends
