  • Contract physician(s) (as appropriate and within the scope of practice/privileging) shall be responsible for providing psychiatric care, including:
  • ·Physical Assessment, Psychiatric Evaluations and Mental Status Exams, Psychotherapy, Pharmacotherapy, Consultation, Clinical Supervision, General Medical Condition Care, Group Psychotherapy, Behavior Therapy, Family Therapy, Treatment Team meetings, Discharge Planning, referring patients to specialty care, histories and physicals, order prescriptions, labs, x-rays, and other pertinent tests, completes documentation requirements promptly as per policy, completion of consults from locations at the facility, and evaluates outpatients for medication as needed. Contracted psychiatrists shall have an active and valid DEA license and shall have the ability to prescribe Buprenorphine and Clozapine.
  • See an average of 10-13 patients daily

Job Responsibilities

Outpatient Mental Health services/consultations 
 Works as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team
 60-minute intake appointments. 30-minute follow-up appointments
·Allocated administrative time
Collaborative Team meeting each morning.
 Must be comfortable with medication-assisted treatments for SUD and ambulatory detox.
Communicate effectively with the acute psychiatrist and assist with the admission process if one of their patients is in crisis.
Must be able to complete the suicide screening process and work in a team-based model
Male /female patient mix. ·       
Adult patients.. The average age of treatment is 50s
The clinic is not high security, but it does have limited personnel access
Participate in the overnight call rotation as needed. Covers on-call when scheduled after hours. Required to answer the phone when it rings. Works with the onsite MOD via home call. Notes are entered on the following workday for all on-call updates/ treatment plans.

Qualifications

US Citizen
Unrestricted State Medical License
Unrestricted and current DEA.

Working Hours

8 am-4:30 pm Monday to Friday
