The Medical Director will be responsible for overseeing the clinical operations of the Mental Health Center. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, fostering a culture of excellence, and driving strategic initiatives to enhance services.
The Medical Director will be responsible for overseeing the clinical operations of the Mental Health Center. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, fostering a culture of excellence, and driving strategic initiatives to enhance services.
Job Responsibilities
Directs the implementation of services.
Monitors vendor performance and activities for compliance
Develops reports regarding discharge summaries, other medical reports, and correspondence.
Authorizes payment based upon services rendered.
Develops and manages medical/clinical budgets within general policy guidelines established by the Budget and Business Administrator.
Monitors contracts and reviews billing for medical/clinical services to verify qualitative services as delivered.
Recommends termination of medical/clinical contracts.
Represents medical services and programs.
Duties Include but are not limited to:
Serves as a member of the hospital clinical and management team and governing body.
Represents the hospital on a variety of statewide medical committees.
Serves as chairman of the Executive Medical Staff Committee.
Make committee assignments.
Serves as facility expert on mental health laws, regulations, and trends.
Examines recipients for certification under the Mental Health Code.
Participates in patient care reviews.
Represents the Center and medical staff in court proceedings as needed
Performs incident Investigation and reporting, including, but not limited to: Reviews all serious incident management reports and use of Hospital Restraints and Seclusions authorizations.
Investigates and reports issues related to patient abuse and neglect and other mandated reportings.
Qualifications
Unrestricted IL Medical License
Unrestricted CSL and DEA
BLS certification
Ability to pass a drug screen and fingerprinting.
