This well-respected medical facility is part of an established healthcare network in Alaska. The facility features a dedicated Mental Health Unit with both adult and adolescent services, a Children's hospital, psychiatric emergency room, and comprehensive medical floors. The facility maintains high standards of patient care and offers a collaborative, supportive working environment for healthcare professionals.
Opportunity: Certified - Psychiatry
This is a full-time locum tenens position working as an inpatient consult liaison psychiatrist. The ideal candidate will be board certified in both child/adolescent and general psychiatry certifications to provide comprehensive mental health care across multiple departments.
Job Details:
- 7 days on, 7 days off schedule with overnight call in the Mental Health Unit
- Support for either adult or adolescent unit with availability to assist the Children's hospital, psychiatric emergency room, and medical floors for consultations
- Approximately 20 patient encounters per shift
- BLS certification required
- Required clinical expertise in anxiety disorders, affective disorders, ADD/ADHD, personality disorders, eating disorders, and psychotic disorders
- Preferred experience with developmental disorders, organic disorders, involuntary commitments, pharmacotherapy, group therapy, and family therapy
- Board certification required
- Temporary Alaska license obtainable in approximately 5-6 weeks
- Estimated credentialing timeframe: 60-90 days
Compensation:
