A mental healthcare organization in New York is currently seeking a licensed Psychiatrist to join one of their facilities in Western New York as their new Adult Inpatient Forensic Psychiatrist. In this role, the Psychiatrist will be responsible for providing a comprehensive program of evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for Criminal Justice System-involved, mentally ill individuals.
Responsibilities:

The Adult Inpatient Forensic Psychiatrist will:

  • Plan and oversee psychiatric, medical, and patient care and support services for a treatment program, a group of clients or residents, an inpatient care center, or a unit
  • Treat all clients with safe and humane care
  • Provide medical treatment following all prescribed dictates of professional and licensure codes
  • Expected to integrate readily into the treatment team and interact with all levels of staff in their professional capacity
  • Review psychiatric and medical history of persons assigned for treatment
  • Conduct full psychiatric screenings and evaluations of individuals assigned to their care
  • Participate in and manage the Treatment Program

Qualifications:

  • 1 year of Forensic experience
  • NYS licensed Psychiatrist
  • Board-certified Adult Psychiatrist by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
  • Valid National Provider Identification Number (NPI)
  • Valid Federal Narcotics Number (DEA Number)
  • Enrolled in CMS and remain an unconditional participating provider in the Medicare and Medicaid OPRA programs
  • Enroll in NYS Medicaid as a Billing Provider or an Ordering, Referring and Attending Prescriber
  • Enroll in NYS Internet System for Tracking Over-Prescribing/Prescription Monitoring Program (I-STOP/PMP)
