  • 7:45am to 4:30pm, with 45-minute non-paid lunch

Campus: The current, normal work schedule for this campus is Monday through Friday from 7:45am to 4:30pm., with a 45-minute non-paid lunch break. Campus contract physicians will provide weekend psychiatric coverage on a scheduled/rotating basis with other VA psychiatrists on staff and will work 13 weekends per calendar year. Weekend contract physicians will provide Saturday and Sunday coverage from 7:45am to 4:30pm., with a 45-minute non-paid lunch break. Each contracted psychiatrist will work three (3) Federal holidays per calendar year, 7:45am to 4:30pm., with a 45-minute non-paid lunch break.

Mental Health Services include:


Acute Psych inpatient unit – 12 beds
  • Psych-Nursing Home Care inpatient unit (Intermediate type pts) – 16 bedsPsych-Nursing Home Care inpatient unit (long-term type pts)/ Extended Care -
    Consultation only with the Veteran’s Community Living Center (VCLC) – 100 beds
  • Residential Treatment Program – PTSD/Sub Abuse/Dual Diagnosis – 30- 50 beds
  • Consults to our Acute Medicine inpatient unit and Intensive Care unit- 26 bed

Qualifications
  • Any State License
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
  • At least two (2) years of experience
  • Have a current, full and unrestricted licenses in one or more states, but who have, or ever had, a license restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily revoked, voluntarily surrendered pending action or denied upon application will not be considered for the purposes of this contract.

Scope of Care:
Contract physician(s) (as appropriate and within scope of practice/privileging) shall be responsible for providing Psychiatry care and includes: Physical Assessment, Psychiatric Evaluations and Mental Status Exams, Psychotherapy, Pharmacotherapy, Consultation, Clinical Supervision, General Medical Condition Care, Group Psychotherapy, Behavior Therapy, Family Therapy, Treatment Team meetings, Discharge Planning, referring patients to specialty care, histories and physicals, order prescriptions, labs, x-rays, and other pertinent tests, completes documentation requirements in a timely manner as per policy, completion of consults from locations at the facility, and evaluates outpatients for medication as needed. Contracted psychiatrists shall have an active and valid DEA license and shall have the ability to prescribe Buprenorphine and Clozapine.
