Provide temporary, full-time, M-F, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, on-site coverage helping with their Acute Care section needs. Currently, to meet their needs, a person filling this role would take on tasks including assessment, recommendations for admission and/or treatment, and providing treatment when indicated (including associated documentation, writing orders, etc.) in, primarily, the Emergency Department and Inpatient Psychiatry unit. The person would also assist with consultation/liaison to the medical units when the provider who normally covers that role is absent. This person would be the 3rd psychiatrist working on the inpatient psych unit, so workload would be manageable, despite taking consults in the ED (and occasionally on a medicine floor).
